CurrentI am currently the technical coordinator of the consortium (e-GEOS as prime with CNR IREA, ISMAR, University of Rome, University of Pisa, CNR IMAA) of the “Progetto per sviluppo di prodotti iperspettrali prototipali evoluti” funded by ASI. The aim is the development of L3/L4 products based on hyperspectral data aiming at exploiting PRISMA and SHALOM mission capabilities. Foreseen products: water quality, fire fuel map, material detection, physically based vegetation parameters.I am involved in the development of the Water Quality Prototype for the retrieval of Phytoplankton, Total Suspended Matter (TSM) and Bottom Substrate exploiting PRISMA surface reflectance.I am involved, as technical manager, in the SES5G project - "Secure Environment supervisor empowered by Satellite and 5G technology", for the development of a Fire Fuel Hazard Index through the exploitation of PRISMA Surface reflectance (L2d) products with the aim of monitoring the Castel Fusano reserve, an area of the Metropolitan City of Rome of high environmental value.Project and Technical Manager both in the Hyperspectral Imaging Mission Concepts and the Spaceborne Hyperspectral Applicative Land and Ocean Mission (SHALOM) projects for the definition of the mission and technical requirements for future operational hyperspectral imaging systems assessing future needs of hyperspectral imaging data and related products and services.Algorithm Developer of hyperspectral, multispectral and SAR data processing algorithms: • automatic mapping of the urban heat islands from Landsat 8 and MODIS data; • radiative transfer models for the Hyper-Spectral Image Simulator; • atmospheric and topographic correction of LANDSAT 5-8, Sentinel-2 and hyperspectral data; • sea wind extraction from SAR images.
