Provide leadership, planning and management for voice and data communications, user support and IT system security. Review and authorize project plans, develop organizational goals, policy and procedures. Oversee the implementation of data and network security and disaster recovery. Collaborate with users, management, vendors and technicians to assess IT needs and system requirements. Ensure technical support meets customer needs and ensure technical competency of staff and coverage of operational expectations. Recruit, hire, supervise and train staff as well as other staffing decisions. Responsible for the training and readiness of all personnel within the Communications Squadron for state and federal response and taskings. Directed the information security and information assurance policies, principles and practices as well as the operation and functionality of information systems. I was also responsible for the boundary protection, certification and accreditation of both unclassified and classified systems.

External and crisis communications as the spokesperson for the Oregon Air National Guard. Developed relationships with media points of contact in the national market. Conducted full range of press interviews and press releases. Created comprehensive messages and communication outreach over Internet website. Internal communications focus on Intranet, SharePoint, Email, newsletter and gatherings. Community outreach highlighting mission and capabilities for community leader in various venues.

Responsible for the administrative function of Command leadership by actively following up on taskers, scheduling, and planning. The central point of contact for visiting dignitaries and event planning. As a key staff member functioned as an adviser to Command. Solely responsible for ensuring events, visits, and briefings went smoothly and objectives were met. Also ensured staff work was prioritized and overall requirements were managed.
