Before working at Red Salmon Arts, I was a longtime volunteer for the organization. Over the years I have hosted film screenings, literary and political events, trainings for volunteers and organizers, as well as maintaining the event space and the organization's bookstore. I'm deeply committed to grassroots organizing, cultural arts, and especially to the practice of recording and interpreting oral history with underrepresented communities and artists. I am currently the administrator of RSA's archival project, the People's Library of Resistance. In addition to my work at RSA, I am a founder of Austin Beloved Community, a collective project based on the documentary film "Anne Braden: Southern Patriot". I have been involved in the development and promotion of the documentary film "A Strike and an Uprising (In Texas)", as well. At UT Austin, I completed an undergraduate honors thesis exploring the process of oral history with self-taught artist Kit Keith.
