Responsible for operative and strategic IT security within the organization. Working alongside the Head of IT and the Chief Security Officer I develop policies and practices for enhancing and maintaining our security posture. I also engage in maintenance of security systems, proactive and reactive threat hunting, and other hands-on-keyboard security tasks.

I led specification and bidding for development work of a censorship circumvention tool. Additionally, I participated in API specification development and assisted on various implementation details and handled management of project funding flows from two different donors in different jurisdictions, including reporting, financial controls and personnel matters.

Telecomix is a non-profit think tank and loosely coherent activist cluster working with issues regarding Internet freedom, net neutrality and private information security. We take action whenever the free flow of data is threatened.I stepped up as an unpaid press liaison for Telecomix when the protests in Tunisia and Egypt led to the respective governments taking various actions against the local Internet infrastructure. In my role as a press liaison I gave interviews and comments to various news outlets, which required me to quickly collect and make sense of information from a large number of autonomous sub-projects under the Telecomix umbrella.
