I am a licensed Electronics Engineer, and technician in the Philippines with more than 5 years of working experience in the medical diagnostics industry.During my tenure as Service Engineer from a local distributor, I have been assigned to man various medical equipment in different laboratory/ hospital sections. This is where I have developed my technical competency and versatility. I have handled point-of-care to floor-type instrument, coming from a variety of well-known diagnostic equipment brands. In my years handling all sorts of equipment with the company, I have specialized with the Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) instrument from Grifols and Hologic, the Procleix Panther System. I am confident to say I became an expert of the instrument and have developed my knowledge and skills for clinical application side as well through the years. My work dedication, high spirit for learning and customer-oriented approach have allowed me to nurture not only my technical skills, but also my career as I have worked my way from being a Field Service Engineer to becoming an Area Service Manager within the first 3 years of my stay with the company.The molecular expertise I have attained with Procleix Panther paved the way for me to enter a bigger stage, thru Cepheid’s GeneXpert. I have joined Cepheid as Field Application Engineer under Customer Care SEAK region covering Philippines and Pacific Island Countries. The GeneXpert instrument is simpler from what I have been used to work-with, so I managed to focus on getting extensive trainings with qPCR and molecular science, on top of the hardware and technical trainings. Furthermore, I was given certification as regional trainer and have facilitated several technical trainings for colleagues/customers in Philippines and other South-East Asian countries.
