We designed then built a prototype mobile application that utilised Microsoft’s AI products to create a tool to assist our customers. I provide 1st – 3rd line support remote desktop and server support for users at the company’s sites in Corby and North Yorkshire, and all on-site support for the Corby site, on a Windows Server network that incorporates Microsoft Office, Exchange 2003, VMWare eSXI Server, SQL Server and and various in-house applications. I carry out hardware installations and repairs where necessary, and perform software installs using PDQ Deploy. The network is spread over four sites, and I often configure routers and Barracuda firewalls as required to maintain the connection between the sites. I carry out equipment and software purchasing when necessary, and advise users which purchasing solution is best fit for their needs. I have been given responsibility for ensuring software licensing compliance, and have developed processes to record license usage and purchasing.I oversee and track issues relating to the in-house built warehouse management system, acting as a contact between the company’s development team and end users, including advising on how IT equipment and services can be best provisioned to streamline production processes.I regularly participate in software and user acceptance testing.I manage the site’s Avaya IP phone system.Projects I have worked on whilst at Advanced include recording all IT assets located in Corby, and documenting the network configuration. I have recently implemented Windows Deployment Services and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, documented the deployment processes and trained other staff in its use, and am currently planning and testing for a company site-wide Windows 7 deployment.I have recently configured a new Microsoft Windows Terminal Server and configured client VPN access. I have upgraded and migrated our McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator server.

Senior IT Technician in a Secondary School that is well recognised locally for its outstanding use of IT. I line managed two Technicians, and had overall responsibility for the smooth running of the IT network. I managed and maintained 13 servers, which included the following services: Domain Controllers, DNS and DHCP servers, WDS, Sophos Antivirus, Symantec Backup Exec, Prism Software Deployment, Terminal Servers, SQL Servers, Print Servers, WSUS, Mac OS Directory Services, a Managed Learning Environment, IIS web services and a Linux based video server.

I assisted the Infrastructure Manager in running a network of approx. 50 users. I monitored the backup solution, and provided first line support. During this time, I completed a hardware refresh which required me to replace and image half of the companies computers, and organise the safe disposal of obsolete equipment. I carried out hardware repairs where necessary.
