There’s a bit of wisdom from an old boss that I’ve carried through my career: “People support what they help to create.” It’s the philosophy that underpins everything I believe about how great work gets done. It's about using design thinking principles to bridge the gap between people and impact–whether it’s connecting them to a cause they care about, or empowering them to do the best work of their lives.I’ve spent 20 years in fundraising and nonprofit management, in-house and as a consultant. After starting my career in boots-on-the-ground fundraising, I gained a reputation as a problem-solver--and ultimately found a niche leading strategy and innovation initiatives for world-class nonprofit brands like ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Alzheimer's Association.My journey helped me master the art of end-to-end transformation: scoping challenges, envisioning solutions, and executing with precision. I have a knack for assembling diverse, high-performing teams, a passion for prioritization, and keen decision-making skills. What sets me apart is my ability to connect strategy with culture–empowering individuals and enterprises with the strategies, skills, and enthusiasm to embrace new ways of thinking and working.When our team at ALSAC/St. Jude was recognized as #1 on Fast Company's "Best Workplaces for Innovators" list alongside industry giants like Google, it not only validated the work but affirmed my commitment to cultivating teams and cultures where ingenuity thrives and ideas meet impact.Now, in my role at Shift Studio, I'm helping top nonprofits guide visionary concepts from ideation to execution—making mission innovation simple, achievable, and fun.On a personal note: since leaving Chicago at age 18, I’ve lived and built community in six different states across the U.S.--ultimately landing back in Chicago in 2021. I love live music, modern art, all things politics, and supporting local charities as a volunteer, Board member, and strategy consultant.
