As the leader of the Oceania Tax Performance Advisory team, Mike was responsible for the team offering transformation services offered by EY to its clients. In this role, he developed client relationships to identify and deliver process improvement projects involving transformation, often through technology solutions (either third party or self-developed).

Mike led the team that joined Thomson Reuters after the Abacus business was acquired from Deloitte. In this role he grew the team from 40 to over 120 tax technology professionals, led large scale client pursuits and delivery that included implementations at two further Big 4 accounting firms, built the local sales and service teams, oversaw acquisition activity and international expansion growth.

London

As a leading member of Deloitte’s TMC business, Mike led a number of product builds from inception to delivery at clients. These included Abacus VAT (now ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Compliance) and the Abacus Workflow solution. In this role, he also delivered numerous other tax transformation projects for corporate clients including tax reporting automation, tax function design, process automation and ERP tax sensitisation.

Reading, San Francisco, London

Mike’s roles included providing corporate tax compliance and advisory services to clients in the UK and during a secondment to San Francisco. Upon his return from the US, he led a project assessing the impact of technology on professional services which led to the creation of and him joining the market facing tax technology business.
