Built LEO’s US innovation platform in Cambridge (USA) to explore cutting-edge science, breakthrough technologies, and a deep understanding of skin diseases by empowering thought leaders and reinventing partnership models in healthcare.Key accomplishments:- Drove the establishment of a breakthrough innovation platform to rapidly explore new opportunities in patients as well as generating new disease understanding in adjacent dermatological indications.- Developed novel technologies in collaboration with leading research hospitals and universities that solved technological challenges in diagnosing, monitoring and treating patients with an aim of preventing skin disease.- Built a small high-performing team that ran multiple projects simultaneously and was essential to transforming the working model of Global R&D.- Created a high-powered global research network with top US KOLs that was used by the commercial organization in the launching of products.

Member of the Steering Committee of the Skin Science Foundation with the objective to give direction to the development of mutual data sharing platforms, bioinformatic analysis resources and research funding opportunities that will drive breakthrough discoveries and transform skin care from reactive and disease-focused to proactive and centered on preserving skin health.Key accomplishments:- Contributed to the creation of the Skin Science Foundation and one of the initial steering committee members.

Led the team that developed the concept of a Global Innovation Initiative run across Boston, San Francisco and Tokyo.A framework was created to bring together a community around dermatology and ensure entrepreneurs could develop and progress their ideas. It consisted of dermatologists, scientists and engineers to develop innovative ideas to help people living with skin conditions. Funding and mentorship were provided to progress the ideas and several start-ups have been successfully created.Key accomplishments:- Established an innovation initiative that generated a number of successful startups.- Embedded the initiative in the Advancing Innovation in Dermatology (AID) nonprofit to create sustainability.

Built a team to bridge late discovery and early development to rapidly explore assets in exploratory clinical trials. Oversaw the budget for a total of 15 scientists (including 2 manager-level direct reports).Key accomplishments:- Designed and implemented the concept of Centers of Research Excellence (CoREs).- Drove the establishment of an exploratory clinical trial platform involving Centers of Research Excellence (CoREs) to rapidly explore new opportunities in patients as well as generating new disease understanding (kill quick).- Member of Joint Steering Committees (JSCs) overseeing key drug discovery collaborations that fueled the pipeline.
