As inhouse consultant for Operational Excellence I handle a wide variety of improvement projects in plants of all sizes (up to several thousand employees) all around the world. These projects range from short time projects (weeks) focussing on very specific areas (e.g. waste reduction) to long term projects (years) with very broad definition of scope. In the latter regard I handle things as diverse as bonus schemes, 5S implementation, internal communication, lean manufacturing, coaching, backoffice process improvements, statistical analysis, material flow & on-site logistics, KPI set-up and performance management and more and provide support in certain technical issues. Actual documented EBIT impact of all this amounts to double digit Million EUR sums (sometimes within a single year). I deliver consistently and I'm proud that more than 60% of my working time is booked a year in advance by my internal customers.

Responsible for all production issues, implementation and scale up of R&D projects, technical planning of plant extension (double capacity), optimization of production processes, customer support in technical issues. ⚫ Increased production speed of some products up to 69% and total yield by 2% by optimizing process flows. ⚫ Lowered cost of waste disposal by procedural changes and negotiation. ⚫ Introduced know-how management and documentation system. ⚫ Restructured shift system and re-hired for better qualified blue collar FTEs. ⚫ Improved speed and efficiency of internal order management by introducing electronic system. ⚫ Improved employee satisfaction and retention by focusing on internal relationship building. ⚫ Scaled up several products from lab-scale to successful first-time production. ⚫ Increased customer satisfaction in logistic issues through several measures. ⚫ Secured product launch in Brazil giving on-site technical support and won follow-up order.

Assisted the Production Manager in daily production (follow up on technical and quality issues, feasibility calculations, programming and visualization of KPIs) ⚫ Led team successfully through major plant wide production trial. ⚫ Cut energy costs of drying process while improving quality. ⚫ Provided on-site technical assistance to joint venture (Nanjing, CN). ⚫ Lowered working time lost of blue collar FTEs by introducing tool change. ⚫ Introduced SQL, number crunching and statistical methods to senior engineers.

Supervised work of PhD students of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. ⚫ Built and operated pilot model of a novel carbon-capturing combustion process. ⚫ Edited lecture notes for university course in advanced power generation. ⚫ Verified manufacturing process for crucial process material at University of New South Wales (Sydney).
