After many years in Air Traffic Control, as an operational ACC controller, on different positions in training and as an incident investigator, I am now working as Safety Coordinator for LFV Operations. I got the position in the summer of 2014, and the role, which then was a new one, was mainly created for the support of the Operational Managers at the local ATC units within LFV. Being a new role I have been able to form the position after my competence and skills, and have been given the chance to combine my previous background, both from the operational point of view and from my years in training and investigation, with my new Learning from my studies in Human Factors & System Safety, Psychology and Pedagogics. Therefore my job is very diverse, from participating in audits by the authority at the local units, attending safety related meetings both on the local and the central level in LFV, and external meetings with collaborative partners on the autority and the provider level. I am responsible for the follow up of recommendatiotions and actions deriving from our internal incident investigations and I teach on Safety related courses such as Safety Assessment, Competence Assessment and Progressive Safety thinking/Safety II.
