Duties & Responsibilities as Senior Mechanical HVAC Design & Project Management EngineerDESIGN & ENGINEERING:• Studying the feasibility of concept definition & carry-out engineering study to preparing FEED to detail HVAC drawing for approvals.• Gathering data from existing utilities and liaising with of the stakeholders, client, end user department, and and utilize the information in preparing the drawing.• Preparing necessary HVAC system calculation using Carrier HAP 5.11 / E-20, Ventilation Calculation as per ASHRAE/NFPA/QCDD/QCS standards.• Preparing Basis of Design Report, Scope of Work, Project Specifications, Construction contract documents.• Lead the team of design engineers & CAD operators in designing the detail HVAC system design & drafting - Detail drawing, Schematic drawings, Sing-line drawings, Sections drawings, Control diagram & Technical data sheet. • Preparing the CHW pipe layout drawing, Chilled Water Pump room, Cooling Tower drawing & District cooling pipe line design.• Conduct all calculation using computer software for duct sizing, pipe sizing, Heat Gain, ESP calculation, Pump head calculation etc.PROJECT MANAGEMENT:• Interfacing and coordinating between Structural, Civil and Mechanical Engineers of Construction Contractors as also with the Clients, Project Managers and all other concerned parties on a regular basis.• Conduct on-site inspection and check the quality of work, materials and equipment of the contractors. Check if the materials and any portion of work conform to the drawings and specifications.• Supervise the execution of works, carryout regular inspections of works and confirm the materials to comply with the Construction Contract Documents and requirements.• Ensure that Works being carried out are as per the approved method statements and shop Drawings using approved materials to avoid any abortive works.• Maintain the records of all proceedings, approvals and milestones of the projects assigned.

DESIGN & ENGINEERING:• Developing shop drawing, detailed drawings, coordination drawings, reviewing vendor’s drawings, design drawings. Preparing as built drawings.• Preparations of method statements, ITPs, Testing Procedures, checklists, Pre commissioning/ commissioning programs/schedules.• Supporting engineering department in order to coordinate with consultant and contractor or supplier’s submittal reviews and all related aspects.• Follow up with relevant authorities/client on approvals and submissions.• Distribution of approved drawings to team.• Preparing Material submittals, SPIRs, MTLs.• Handover documents to facilities management/asset holders such as dossiers, maintenance & operational maintenance, inventories/documentations for performances/guarantees• Assisting QS department at tender stage with regards to mechanical take off quantities, facilitation to receive quotations from vendors/suppliers.EXECUTION:• Leading overall construction activities and interface with the team & sub-contractors• Determine labor requirements and assigning workforce for construction accordingly.• Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.• Direct and supervise works.• Ensuring the work being carried out as per approved documents & construction methods.• Develop and implement quality control programs.• Take actions to deal with the results of delays or emergencies at construction site.• Monitoring progress of works against schedule and quality requirements and correcting if any discrepancies observed• Monitor and implementing safety and quality of works in the project• Preparing minutes of weekly/monthly/technical meetings• Monitor materials submission and approvals and review updating of materials scheduleto mitigate any construction delays• Review the HSE Plans & Method Statement of the events and to ensure that all events abide by the HSE Regulations.• Verify the work done by internal QAC and then to validate from client for acceptance.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES• Designing the HVAC system from conceptual to FEED to final proposal design for various types of projects (Commercial, Residential, High rise hotel apartment, Industrial warehouses etc.)• Review the HVAC system design.• Perform Heat Load Calculation with HAP 5.11 program & manual.• Perform mechanical ventilation system calculation for basement car park, staircase & lobby pressurization, fire pump room & generator room.• Preparing detail HVAC system report.• Preparing the estimation for the project.• Sending inquiries for the quotation for the HVAC items to the various vendors.• Preparing quotation & contracts.• Conducting value engineering, if required.• Preparing shop drawings, material submittal, material take-off.• Preparing the project completion schedule in coordination with civil, electrical & MEP services.• Managing all installation of HVAC system as per approved shop drawings complying with project specification & standards.• Monitor the installation of chilled water piping with hook-up connections to chillers, AHUs, FAHUs and FCUs and ductwork as per standards and approvals.• Raising material inspection request (MIR) for material delivered.• Raising request for inspections of executed work (RFI) as per approved shop drawing & accompanying consultant for the inspection.• Monitoring day to day activities.• Attaining minutes of meeting.• Control the project on regular intervals by rechecking the cost of the project, schedule of the project and reporting to GM.• Testing & commissioning of HVAC system.• Handing over the project to the client.• Evaluating the final output of the project with respect to the performance of the system, budget of the project etc.
