The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg does not only provide an elite customer service but also offers exceptional culinary experiences. The acclaimed three-star Michelin restaurant “Aqua” by Sven Elverfeld has continuously secured a place on the “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants” list by S. Pellegrino & Acqua Panna throughout the years. Working in the Sales & Marketing department at one of Germany’s more renowned hotels presented numerous challenging, yet exciting tasks and responsibilities. Sustaining an up-to-date online presence by using tools such social media platforms and the hotel website were tasks regularly assigned by the PR Manager. Furthermore, the Sales Manager and Revenue Manager commonly requested statistical analyses and retrieval of data along with a presentation on relevant findings. Assisting the Conference and Catering Sales Team represented a significant share of the day-to-day workload. These tasks included: receiving, entering and maintaining RFPs in the Property Management System and drafting contracts for room quotas and caterings. Throughout the tenure of the internship these tasks grew to be more demanding, including qualifying RFPs independently and contacting organisers to discuss their events. This project involved programming an interactive tool for employees to expedite the flow of information, which lead to the self acquisition of VBA scripting and a deeper understanding of process control in an organisation. -
