I have been working with creativity for the last 35 years and enjoying its challenges and processes for the same amount of time. It was right after graduating in Marketing and Advertising, while working in an advertising agency in São Paulo that my professional adventure began. There I realized that Graphic Design was my real endowment and so I decided to go back to school, this time to the San Francisco Academy of Arts where I completed a BA with distinction in Graphic Design. At that time, when neither me or the Mac Classic were classics yet, I had the privilege to join the graphic department of Esprit de Corp. In 1988 I realized that Portugal was the best place to be, and have not changed my mind since then. Here I have been creating and managing major local and international brands as Creative Director of Massa Cinzenta, Novodesign, Maisdesign, Brandia Central and currently Founder and Creative Partner at A EQUIPA. My ability to spot talent allowed me to recruit, work with and direct many of the most talented professionals in this field. I am grateful to have spent twelve years leading the Art Directors Club of Portugal, and chairing the Art Directors Club of Europe, serving the community by promoting the Portuguese creativity here and abroad. My experience and reputation in creative management lead me to be invited regularly to publish articles, give lectures and master classes in creative business and brand thinking; as well as to chair and judge design work in many national and international creative festivals all around Europe and South America.
