I lead proposal development from concept to contract for organizational responses to RFPs and investigator-initiated studies sponsored by diverse funders. As the senior member of the proposal team, I develop strategies and materials to grow the funding portfolio and proposal development operational excellence.

With a Senior Scientist, I co-lead business development and proposal development for the industry-sponsored portfolio of business in HPHC. Leveraging a network of large national payer organizations, we conduct research studies in claims and electronic medical record (EMR) data for a variety of clients across several therapeutic areas. I have a leadership role and responsibility for:• Strategic planning,• Proposal and scope of work development and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses,• Original content creation,• Pricing,• Sponsor negotiation and bid defenses.

Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) is the largest Academic Clinical Research Organization in United States. As a proposal manager, I drive the development of win strategy for funding proposals from concept to contract for clinical research and specialize in emerging areas in real-world evidence (RWE) and data-driven approaches to clinical trial design, clinical trials, and large research initiatives. As a senior team member, I also mentor and coach other team members.

PCORnet, the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network is designed to make it faster, easier, and less costly to conduct clinical research than is now possible by harnessing the power of large amounts of electronic health record (EHR) data and patient partnerships. In the process, it is transforming the culture of clinical research from one directed by researchers to one driven by the needs of patients and those who care for them.As a member of the PCORnet Coordinating Center team, I manage strategic external stakeholder relationships with PCORnet and the development PCORnet resources to do meaningful research in multiple therapeutic areas with a special interest in medical devices. I work with investigators and sponsors to design and implement studies that address critical clinical and public health questions.

The Dartmouth BIL specializes in neuroscience research, including traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, psychiatric illnesses, and aging studies with expertise in neuropsychological testing and brain imaging. I led strategic planning to improve research operations and resources including the creation of new lines of revenue through the identification of potential funding sources and the development of proposals as well as management of current research resources.• Projected operating budget and resource needs for imaging core laboratory and clinical division• Established and managed research imaging Shared Service Center and pricing models• Generated collaboration and revenue from new research core user groups; seven proposals (>$10MM) including an NIH P50 Core Research Infrastructure grant • Managed eight direct reports and dozens of work study students• Oversaw multi-site clinical trial operations for New England Veterans Association Research Consortium participating in The INjury and TRaumatic STress (INTRuST) Clinical Consortium funded by DoD; 7 trials at 5 VAMC sites with $14MM funding

• Perform variety of administrative, communications and contract management support for a research entity within in the largest academic clinical research institute in the United States.• Administer grants and cooperative agreements applying knowledge of organizational needs, policies, and deadlines.• Understand and execute the various stages of the grant lifecycle including pre-award review, grant progress monitoring, and award closure. • Acted as liaison between faculty and Duke central research administration offices.• Communicated expectations and reinforce requirements with subcontract institutions.• Lead activities to ensure grantee compliance with the established grant including expense and effort/payroll monitoring. • Contributed to forecasting and strategic planning

I directed research communications and projects designed to seek and secure funding from extramural sponsors as part of an innovative jobs creation partnership between the State of Florida and the University of Miami. • Developed funding proposals to support research, education, and outreach, estimated $30M won• Directed communications for internal and external audiences in collaboration with Medical School leadership• Tracked institute’s progress and growth for contractual reporting to state and national agencies• Lead special research projects for the office of the Institute Director including the development and implementation of a community-based genetics awareness project in special populations
