Responsible for WW Media Relations with Trade, Technical, and Technology publications. Beyond managing the Company's worldwide media outreach and response, my job includes generating backgrounders, producing and distributing press releases, placing technical articles, and measuring results. I've also created and distributed the Company's crisis communication plan, managed several events aimed at maximizing the Company's visibility in the press, and am building a training program aimed at coaching our executives to speak to the media more effectively. I manage a small but dedicated staff in a very fluid organizational structure.

* Built customer-service organization, created content-development kits, organized content, and ensured quality control. * Left company by mutual agreement 2 months before it went out of business.

* Developed strategy and direction for print and Web publications reaching 210k (print) readers and 70k registered Web readers (900k page views/mo). Responsible for $2.4M budget, 20 staff, and 5 editions. In severe down market, strategy grew share and maintained revenues and profitability. * Conceived and re-launched EDN Europe. Leader on team to architect CommVerge, Electronics Industry Yearbook, and e-inSITE. New businesses generated $5-6M in 2000 (first year).* Led team that re-engineered corporate editorial and production processes. Efforts were predicted to cut costs >10%, improve cycle time 20%, and expand revenue opportunities. Troubleshot and saved publication in danger of failing to produce its issues.

* Owned US$750k budget and 5 staff. Strategic marketing efforts helped magazine beat targets from inception. (US$5M publication was profitable within 2 years.

* Responsible for editorial coverage of electronic design automation (EDA), microprocessors, telecoms, and application-specific ICs (ASICs).* Designed a microprocessor using a (then) new design approach. Done on own initiative and time, two-year project produced award-winning 6-article series.

* Designed circuits to customer specs. All worked on first silicon.* Trained customers and performed pre- and post-sales technical support.
