Numina automates the process of measuring multi-modal traffic. It is an enabling technology for Tactical Urbanism and responsive cities. It is a standalone sensor system and API that uses computer vision to measure activity in streets. We deliver not just counts but movements and behavioral analytics for bicyclists, pedestrians, different classes of vehicle, and other objects in streets. Numina data empowers city planners to design safer and more efficient streets while also enabling industrial automation. Numina has been supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Health 2.0, SOSV, MINI / BMW, and 500 Startups.As technical co-founder, I designed the Numina system, including the sensor hardware and firmware, backend data collection, analytics, and API infrastructure, and the sensor management systems. I also worked closely with our leadership team and investors to develop the product vision and business plan, organized our first manufacturing runs, and supervised deployment of our system across four major cities.We have two patents pending and I remain a director on the board for this corporation.

I worked closely with the client to gather requirements and design a service delivery pipeline using both on-prem and cloud-based services. I was hired by Express Scripts to standardize their Unix/Linux server infrastructure. In my first year I developed a Vagrant-like automated server build platform we called Build-A-Box. It saved the company $750,000 in its first 12 months of use by dramatically increasing the speed of deployment from 6 weeks to 20 minutes. That speed became a vital component of the successful $29 billion merger with Medco in 2012.I was promoted into the Office of the CTO, an innovation center, where we developed the first two generations of Express Scripts's self-service public/private cloud platform.

I was a contractor for UPP Business Systems on permanent assignment with Anheuser-Busch before getting converted to an employee at A-B. (Refer to highlights from Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc.)

I developed, implemented, and maintained the R-home RADIUS server, originally developed by Scientech, for secure, Internet-based dial-in user authentication. The system was written in C using RFC 2138 with RSA encryption to relay authentication/authorization/accounting requests and responses over the Internet. This system was used by UUNET and dozens of smaller ISPs to provide dial-in access so that member ISPs could create cooperatives.

I was the lone system and network administrator at this Internet Service Provider. We used Red Hat Linux servers, Livingston Portmaster comm servers, and Motorola modem banks. I was responsible for configuring our leased lines, DNS, firewalls, modems, shell accounts, and of course dial-in user support.
