About Mark Moody

I am an independent educational consultant, working with high school students across the US and abroad in the search for college fits. My work is shaped by 25 years of diverse experiences as both a college admission officer and Director of College Counseling at some of the most compelling, mission-driven independent schools in the US and abroad. That background gives me deep knowledge of the college admission landscape, as well as understanding of the school setting to advise students and families as they navigate high school choices. I aim to guide students through a reflective, evidence-based college search shaped by their priorities, values, and self-knowledge, followed by an efficient and empowered application process that allows them to cultivate and share their unique voice.I am also deeply interested in the foundations of school and organizational culture, and strategies and mindsets to deepen purpose and mission beyond the transactional level.---Educator inspired to demystify and transform the college search into a positive journey of self-realization and growth, to understand, support and advocate for students, and to facilitate collaboration among professional colleagues to share best practice and to make college admission more equitable, accessible, transparent, and respectful of adolescent development.Skilled in personalizing and grounding the journey in empowered student self-assessment, reflection, storytelling, and substantive connection of past experience to future growth.I am/ have been a member of: National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), Council of International Schools, Assn for College Counseling in Independent Schools, Independent Educational Consultants Assn, International ACAC, Western ACAC, Rocky Mountain ACAC, Pacific Northwest ACAC, Texas ACAC.
