Division of Environmental Assessment & Restoration - Water Quality Assessment Program• Developed annual water quality sampling workplan and oversaw the routine sampling of lakes, wetlands, sloughs, rivers, streams, estuaries, and marine ecosystems for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Strategic Monitoring Program in the southern regional operation center; responded to and sampled harmful algae blooms as needed.• Collected accurate and representative surface water, Van Dorn, and groundwater water quality samples as well as biological Stream Condition Index Surveys, Rapid Periphyton Surveys, Linear Vegetation Surveys, Habitat Assessments, and Lake Vegetation Index Surveys via standard operating procedures.• Collected, recorded, and uploaded water quality data for the Strategic Monitoring Program to use in establishing Total Maximum Daily Loads for impaired water bodies, keeping detailed, organized records.• Used ArcGIS to analyze and choose suitable sampling locations per individual watershed impairments, taking into account existing water quality data, target analytes, land use, and land cover.• Calibrated and maintained field equipment, laboratory equipment, boats, and vehicles.• Experienced in operating boats, including launching, trailering, and navigating via GPS.• Supervised and trained five internal team members; trained several staff in external agencies in emergency response sampling of harmful algal blooms.
