Coordinated a large-landscape collaborative for eastern North America, growing partner engagement 74% over two years. Initiated two road ecology working groups in North Carolina and Virginia, including spearheading a geospatial analysis of roadkill hotspots (see projects below). Assisted in field work and data management of camera trap project assessing ecological diversity on the North Carolina coast. Developed blog posts, policy fact sheets, and development materials as needed.

Provided timely data entry for 50+ years of hand written and typed field records of dawn to dusk observations of 200 chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) from Gombe National Park in Tanzania as part of the Gombe Chimpanzee Project. Proved ability to collect and manage data efficiently and accurately and established knowledge of database management tools and data entry technologies quickly.

Assessed habitat quality for the San Martín titi monkey (Callicebus oenanthe) through relevant application of GIS and remote sensing data. Developed the first range-wide land cover map for this species. Conducted 6-week verification in Peru using GPS technology. Research developed into master’s thesis (see projects).

Ghana

Assisted women's start-up agri-business to alleviate poverty and increase female-driven opportunity in community. Planned and co-facilitated introductory training on beekeeping to improve food security and provide income generation activities to 30+ Ghanaians. Managed the construction of 6-seat latrine for community schools paired with hygiene campaign to promote better health practices. Cross-culturally taught science at Junior High School. Supervised fundraising campaign for the completion of school computer lab. Designed and led presentations for topics including malaria, HIV/AIDS, agriculture, and nutrition.

Moncure, North Carolina

Created, planned, and implemented Junior Ranger Day Camp for a dozen 3rd and 4th grade students to facilitate understanding of environmental science and passion for nature (2009, 2010). Compiled and synthesized data for citizen science project on bald eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus). Led environmental presentations for topics including water quality, wildlife science, and conservation.
