With over four decades of experience as a consumer advocate, I have worked at local, state, national, and international levels to support the health and wellbeing of diverse communities. I am currently a Consumer Advisor / Community Involvement Coordinator at The Kids Research Institute Australia (The Kids), where I facilitate the inclusion of the community at every stage of the research journey, especially for the BEAT CF program, which aims to improve the outcomes for people living with cystic fibrosis.I am passionate about building bridges between researchers and consumers, ensuring that the research is relevant, ethical, and impactful for the people who need it most. I also have extensive experience in strategy, advocacy, policy development, and special projects for various organisations, such as SENEC Australia, Cystic Fibrosis Australia, Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide, and the Consumers Health Forum. I have been a keynote speaker at events across the globe, sharing my insights and expertise on topics such as chronic disease self-management, primary health care, and the Australian Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. I am driven by my vision of creating a more sustainable, equitable, and collaborative health system for all.
