I love challenge! For as long as I can remember, I would not accept “It cannot be done” when presented with a problem or a project idea. This philosophy, combined with my passion and dedication to the building and construction industry allows me to continuously learn and grow as a professional. Experience:As Structural Engineer and Project Manager, I am responsible for performing structural design and calculations, for new construction and for improving the structural integrity of existing buildings. Daily tasks include load analysis, code compliance, developing construction documents, preparing structural assessment evaluation reports and recommendations, site visits, construction administration, working with other design teams and contractors, submittal reviews, and responding to RFIs. I am delegating and managing tasks for young engineers, generating markups for and drafters. I interact with clients and other design teams from proposal state all the way through the completion of the project. Experienced with structural steel, reinforced concrete, wood and cold form metal framing building systems.I’m not your typical structural engineer. I am an engineer, but I am also creative and a people person, andwith a career that has been somewhat non-traditional in that it has focused not just on the structuralengineering, but also on the building and building systems industry of all trades. I have a unique industry perspective, before pivoting my career path to structural engineering, I started as a CAD Drafter and grew into a Vice President. I learned the AEC industry and its needs. I studied new technologies as they are introduced to the industry and trained the people to be efficient and effective in using them. I trained, and oversaw CAD/BIM Production and Field Survey teams. I was also involved in development & implementation of AutoCAD & Revit Standards, overseeing 3D Coordination projects for all trades, Training AutoCAD and Revit, and providing AutoCAD and Revit technical support. I wrote RFP & RFQ responses, prepared and delivered presentations, cost estimates, budgeting, developed client relations, marketing, and green technology research and consulting. Research:I wrote and was awarded EPA P3 Research Grants of $10,000 and $75,000. I developed a lightweight, DIY Green Roof. Since then, I have written and was awarded small grants/ forgivable loans for property development in the City of Wilmington.
