Licensing Operations Executive
I work in the Penguin Ventures licensing team, with some fantastic brands including Peter Rabbit, The Snowman, Ladybird Books, Spot, and the Flower Fairies.I support the team from an operations perspective, interfacing with teams internally and providers externally to ensure everything works end to end, and working with projects and processes.I also work closely with our commercial curator Sara to plan and install exhibitions, including the hugely successful 'Peter Rabbit: Mischief and Mayhem' touring exhibition with the River & Rowing Museum.
System Support Co-Ordinator
Within this role, the team provides a support service to Portman staff in the use and development of Portman's computers and network including systems such as Email, Active Directory, Anti-Virus and application support for software including Office, Galileo, Sabre and PSP
Helpdesk Analyst, Informatics Dept
Working on the Informatics Helpdesk, we responded to first and second line support requests ranging from user management (within Active Directory) and passwords to resolving software issues remotely. The Helpdesk is the first point of contact for all hospital IT queries, and liaises with other hospital departments to ensure the timely resolution of staff and network issues.
It Helpdesk Technician
As a member of the helpdesk team, my duties included first-line support; recording user details, ascertaining the scope of the suspected fault, initial troubleshooting and first-fix efforts, and subsequent documentation. Around 80% of all helpdesk calls received by my organisation were resolved by first-line support, and my own performance statistics have consistently been the highest in my team.Additional helpdesk duties including daily and weekly tasks, including submitting, amending and checking backups, running restores, user account management (using Novell and Active Directory) and checks on servers and network systems. My responsibilities also included the production of material including procedures, policies and guidelines, which document various systems and processes supported by my team. Additionally, I was required to illustrate and publish diagrams produced by the network and systems consultants using Microsoft Visio. All of the helpdesk staff provided on-site support on rotation; consequently, I am comfortable and confident working alone on customer sites providing on-site fault diagnosis, and deploying hardware and networking equipment. In addition to helpdesk duties, my organisation mandated that front-line support staff should also gain specialist knowledge in key systems, in order to provide second-line support in these areas. I specialised in the collaboration and sharing solution favoured by our clients, Novell Vibe. I was responsible for liaising directly with local project managers and team leaders, creating new team structures, developing team landing pages (using web design software), building forms, and developing workflow. Additionally, I created narrative reports for the key stake-holders in the Vibe systems, updating them on key events and progress with their particular implementations.
Senior Library Assistant
As at Weybridge Library, but with a further responsibility working within the Children’s Space at Guildford Library. My work in this area meant that I attended several child-specific courses, such as Maximising Class Visits, and became involved in the CILIP Children’s Book Awards. I also worked as a team to organize events such as author visits, the Summer Reading Challenge, and a staff reading group following the Carnegie Medal. I became Senior Library Assistant in May 04, meaning my duties were increased to incorporate assisting the managers, including cashing up at the end of the week.
Library Assistant
Duties involved interaction with the public, including helping with enquiries, and assisting in the maintenance of library stock. Completed a Customer Care Course whilst in employment.
