Within this role, the team provides a support service to Portman staff in the use and development of Portman's computers and network including systems such as Email, Active Directory, Anti-Virus and application support for software including Office, Galileo, Sabre and PSP

Working on the Informatics Helpdesk, we responded to first and second line support requests ranging from user management (within Active Directory) and passwords to resolving software issues remotely. The Helpdesk is the first point of contact for all hospital IT queries, and liaises with other hospital departments to ensure the timely resolution of staff.

Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex

As a member of the helpdesk team, my duties included first-line support; recording user details, ascertaining the scope of the suspected fault, initial troubleshooting and first-fix efforts, and subsequent documentation. Around 80% of all helpdesk calls received by my organisation were resolved by first-line support, and my own performance statistics have.

As at Weybridge Library, but with a further responsibility working within the Children’s Space at Guildford Library. My work in this area meant that I attended several child-specific courses, such as Maximising Class Visits, and became involved in the CILIP Children’s Book Awards. I also worked as a team to organize events such as author visits, the Summer.
