Michael (“Mike”) Miska began his career in law with a specialization in aviation, following his passion for safety. In addition being an attorney, Mike is private pilot, holding instrument and multiengine ratings. He and his entire family are avid pilots and aviation enthusiasts and plane owners, having owned several single and multi-engine aircraft. His continuing experience and interest in General Aviation, aircraft ownership, and aircraft maintenance gives him knowledge essential to master the unique issues in his practice. Mike further has a passion for cars, and owns several classic cars, which he maintains and restores. He also is an avid boater and loves to sail. Mike’s practice is spread nationwide, at both the trial and appellate court levels. He handles cases involving a variety of vehicles, including aircraft and rotorcraft, such as Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, Mooney, Commander, Gulfstream, Boeing, Robinson, Lancair and Bell aircraft, as well as many others. His experience includes cases involving aircraft with single and twin piston engines, single and twin turboprop engines as well as jet engines. He further has litigated and tried cases involving private, chartered and commercial flights, performing a variety of missions. The successful outcome of his cases is also due to his keen interest in mechanics of all sorts, which he applies to his investigation and development of each case. Mike’s academic achievements include graduating from Villanova School of Law Cum Laude in 2010. Prior to law school, Mike attended American University in Washington, DC, where he graduated Suma Cum Laude from its Kogod School of Business. Mike is also a member of the Lawyer Pilot’s Bar Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and has participated as a Mentor to prospective new pilots with AOPA Flight Training’s Project Pilot. Mike also regularly performs interviews on developments in aviation and teaches continuing legal education classes in his field.
