Growing up in a farming area it quickly became familiar to work with. I enjoy the aspect of problem solving of trying to balance the insured's needs with the Underwriting Guidelines to ensure a smooth process if a claim were to occur. A fun perk is getting to see happy animals in photos of the farms! Outside of my typical Underwriting duties at American National, I also participate in the IDEA Team and the Women's Leadership Forum. They have been paramount in my getting to know colleagues outside of my department and day-to-day interactions by working outside my social comfort zone.When I'm not parked on the couch at home reading a book or binging the latest show to catch my fancy, I enjoy attending conventions, concerts, and camping in the Adirondack Park.
