Masoud Mohajeri is currently principal and president of Arya Engineering Inc. and Caspian Shoring and Piling Inc. based in Vancouver, Canada and provides geotechnical engineering and project management services in Western Canada. Dr. Mohajeri is a professional geotechnical engineer with 30 years of experience in research, design, and management of heavy civil and infrastructure engineering projects. He earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo, completed his first post-doctoral fellowship at Port and Airport Research Institute in Japan and a second post-doctoral fellowship at National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention in Japan.Dr. Mohajeri has been involved in design, construction and project management of over 300 dams, airports, roads, highrise towers, pipelines, and bridges. He has also completed over 600 residential, commercial and industrial projects in British Columbia. His track record is consistency in delivering highly technical solutions and quality projects on schedule and budget minimizing the potential risk for the clients.His experience includes geotechnical investigations, site characterization, undisturbed soil sampling, static and cyclic laboratory testing, large scale shake table and centrifuge testing, slope stability analysis for static and dynamic loads, seepage analysis, seismic site specific ground response analysis, liquefaction triggering assessment, deformation and settlement assessment, stress-strain FEM and FDM analysis, geotechnical design of embankment dams and construction material, design of mechanically stabilized retaining walls, excavation and shoring design, shallow and deep foundation design, geotechnical risk assessment and preparation of geotechnical design specifications and baseline reports for design-build projects and dam safety review of numerous dams in British Columbia.He is an internationally registered Project Management Professional and a qualified project manager. His project management expertise includes scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communications, risk, and procurement management. He has extensive experience in procuring, negotiating and managing contractor relationships and working with consultants and contractors. He has also assisted several projects with developing Health and Safety Guidelines, Environmental Management Plans, and Risk Management Plans.
