I freelanced for the Houston Chronicle, mainly in the neighborhood sections, and also published regular stories in the main paper or its niche inserts. I also wrote for the Houston Press' food blog, produced some ad copy for the Press and acted as a substitute copy editor there.

I covered county government, business and agriculture and produced in-depth features for our magazine-style Saturday edition.

I ended my collegiate career as Editor in Chief (Spring 2007), managing staff, directing coverage, coordinating advertising and determining page layouts and designs, having been Managing Editor (2006), Copy Editor (2005) and Sports Editor (2004).

Prepared and edited listings for the magazine's annual Restaurant Guide, wrote restaurant features and several general pieces for the main publication.

I covered education and Frisco town government, general assignment stories and some sports on this full-time internship.

I covered local government, business, land use and sporting events on this summer internship.
