Accountable for the safe and efficient delivery of the engineering system assets in the Manchester (2005-2008), Swanwick (2008 - 2011) and Prestwick (2011 - 2012) Air Traffic Control Centres. Introducing innovative systems and solutions that were fit for purpose from an engineering perspective. Integral part of the executive leadership teams. Successfully led the Manchester Engineering team through the transfer of Manchester Area Control Centre to the new Air Traffic Control Centre based in Prestwick, Scotland. Through exhaustive attention to: required processes; the winning of 'hearts and minds' of engineers, air traffic controllers and their support staff; and detailed negotiations with Trade Unions, the transition was achieved smoothly and professionally. The transition, which was completed in January 2010, seamlessly relocated 120 staff members and resulted in no adverse impact to our customers.Led the award winning change programme "Delivering our Future". Better interaction between engineers and air traffic operational supervisors resulted in better tactical decisions being made in response to system failures bringing benefits to our customers through the minimisation of air traffic control delays. Reduced the Swanwick engineering cost base by 23%, saving NATS c.£1.6M pa.(Chartered Management Institute - Change Management Award 2010)Requested by Ops Director Prestwick to join Prestwick Executive Team to refocus the engineering team's efforts onto delivering an internal-customer focused service. Successfully designed and implemented a change programme across a team of 50 engineering professionals that improved engineering responsiveness and as a result increased air traffic controller confidence in the engineered system.
