Using micropatterned surfaces and biomaterials to study the mechanics of of T cell activation, specifically the regulation and coordination of the cytoskeleton with primary applications in immunotherapy. Supervised by Dr. Lance C. Kam.

Officiate basketball for Columbia's Intramural Program in the Physical Education and Recreation program. Assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of officials, and regularly meet with the Director and Coordinator of Intramurals and Club Sports to formulate and execute ideas for overall improvement of the program.

TA for Tissue/Molecular Engineering Lab - Created, setup, and guided execution of hands-on experiments in molecular and cellular biology techniques to class of ~12 first-year graduate engineering students. Topics included sterile technique, culture of mammalian cells, microscopy, subcloning and gel electrophoresis, creation of cell-seeded scaffolds, and the effects of mechanical stimulation on living cells or tissues. Created and proctored quizzes and exams (Fall 2017 and Fall 2018).CA for Quantitative Physiology I - Course material included enzyme kinetics, modeling reaction dynamics, diffusive transport, membrane physiology, and cytoskeletal molecular motors. Class of ~70 undergraduate and graduate students. Held weekly offices hours and created/graded homework assignments and exams (Fall 2019).

Researching cellular therapeutics for osteoporosis, specifically analyzing the mechanotransduction capabilities and contributions of the primary cilium with respect to osteoclastogenesis. Supervised by Dr. Christopher R. Jacobs.

Assist high school students from underprivileged backgrounds in core mathematics principles, with the goal of improving their SAT scores and overall academic preparedness for a four-year college.

• Coordinate student support with Executive Director through daily meetings to triage care and strategize student needs.• Monitor student spaces during recess.• Perform and participate in All-School Meetings (ASM).• Participate in various special events on Fridays.• Observe classes to monitor student behavior and evaluate teaching fellows.• Assist Middle School Director and College-Bound Coordinator on tasks related student support in academic-year programming.• Substitute-teach for absent Teaching Fellows or Directors as needed.

The goals the Injury and Orthopaedic Biomechanics group are to investigate clinically relevant biomechanical research problems using the principles of engineering mechanics. My project implemented both experimental and computational biomechanics to develop and validate a model of cervical spine compression for the Warrior Injury Assessment Manikin (WIAMan), funded by the U.S. Department of Defense. Supervised by Dr. Dale Bass & Dr. Roger Nightingale.
