Currently I'm developing software for the financial industry, the last few years have been heavily focused on micro services (primarily node.js on AWS Lambda) and data warehouse/lake (Snowflake). I've got a background in IT managing workstations, networks, phone systems and servers. I got into programming in the early 2000's when I started playing with Perl, I built a number of internal application at The Topeka Capital-Journal (TCJ) to store, manage and report on various data and files. Following the trend at the time I moved on to PHP and was introduced to Drupal when the parent company of TCJ choose it as the platform to build their newspaper sites on. I love learning new programming languages and have had the privilege of using many different ones throughout my career as needed. Servers and related technologies are also a playground for me, I utilize quite a few AWS services and feel like a kid in a candy store looking at all of their offerings I haven't gotten the chance to use yet.
