He obtained his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at Bologna University (Italy) in 1985, with a Degree thesis in soil mechanics and foundation engineering.In 1987 he started to work for Garassino Srl). From 1999, he became the Technical Director of the company.He was involved in all the major projects of the firm and has gained extensive knowledge and experience in various aspects of soil mechanics, which include soil improvement, deep foundations, earth retaining structures, marine works and geotechnical instrumentation.Among others, he was the geotechnical design leader for the El Salaam Syphon under Suez Canal (tunnels underpassing the Suez Canal), for the High Speed Railways projects in Italy (Verona-Venice), for a lot of electrical power plants, desalination plants, big industrial plants (in Italy and, especially, abroad - Middle East, Far East, North Africa, South and Central America…).His experience has also been consolidated through his joint working on key projects with some of the world biggest Consultant Engineering Companies.In 2016 (May-November) he has been in charge as a Project Manager (Client: ES-KO Italia) for the construction of the Mosul Dam Camp, in Kurdistan (Iraq).He has the rank of lieutenant of the Genio Militare (Corps of Engineers of Italian Army), service performed in 1986 - 1987.He has experiences in marine works, being, among others, the geotechnical designer of the Prolungamento Molo Caligoliano in Pozzuoli, the Bolla (Bubble) of Renzo Piano for the G8 meeting in Genoa. He designed several quays in several parts of the world and several ports. He was the consultant for the soil improvement works in the reconstruction of Haiti’s Port (Port-au-Prince) and in Galeota (Trinidad and Tobago). As mentioned above, he was also the geotechnical design leader for the El Salaam Syphon under Suez Canal (tunnels underpassing the Suez Canal).In April 2019 he obtained, from the National Agency for the Certification of Competence of Engineers (Agency of CNI-Consiglio Nazionale degli Ingegneri-Italy), the Certification CERT'Ing ADVANCED as Engineer Expert in Geotechnic, specialized in Foundations, Retaining Walls, Interpretation of Geotechnical tests. This Certification was confirmed in March 2022.From November 2020 he is Discipline Leader – Geotechnical of INCICO.From September 2023 he is Operations Director of INCICO MIDDLE EAST ENGINEERING LLC, based in Abu Dhabi.He is a member of Society Of Engineers of United Arab Emirates – No. 74609.He is a Registered Engineer to the Municipality of Abu Dhabi (UAE) – No. 18685.
