Conducted IRB approved cross-departmental research in psychology, human factors, and healthcare. I was the Principal Investigator (PI) on my honors research project investigating the effect of interruption management training on error rates in the clinical setting in collaboration with Bradley University’s Department of Nursing. I was also an investigator in other research efforts on the topics of peripheral attention and control panel design for augmented reality. Responsibilities and experiences included writing research applications and proposals, designing multiple simulated testing environments, organizing communication within a cross-functional team, participant recruitment, conducting controlled testing sessions, analyzing data, and public presentation of ideas and findings.

Made myself available to help with individual student and peer education on an as-needed basis. Major courses involved Fundamentals of Interaction Design, Intro to Web Design, User Interface Design & Development, User Research & Usability, and Advanced Interaction Design.

Teaching Assistant for Web Design and User Research undergraduate courses. Responsibilities included providing one-on-one instruction to students focusing on a student-first learning model, working directly with students to ensure student success, creating student assignments and timelines, grading, assessing, and providing feedback on student work, adapting coursework to best fit student needs, and organizing course materials.

Using a human-centered, research-driven approach to design Video Enhanced Neurology tools with the goal of improving patient health and clinical workflows. Responsibilities include conducting regular interviews and user tests with clinical personnel, discovering and communicating customer needs to the research and development team, using lean development principles to quickly test and iterate on new technologies, and animating, planning, and producing video and audio content.

I designed and managed the production team for 2023’s FUSE showcase at the Peoria Riverfront Museum, an inclusive showcase for the interactive media department at Bradley University. Additionally, I was directly involved in the design and development of two major virtual reality exhibits, acting as a User Experience Designer and voice actor.
