I was brought on board to manage and lead a team of software developers in developing and maintaining internal tools for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Tools. I work directly with internal customers to analyze their data processing needs, as well as collaborating with the Engineering team on solutions for customer issues. I ensure optimal functionality for services, including uptime, latency, and availability metrics. Among my achievements:❖Led team in reducing latencies by 7x (to 1.5 seconds), dramatically improving customer satisfaction and efficiency, by developing a new UI using TypeScript and React. ❖Guided team in building a new ETL tool for data lakes, with the new tool running Python scripts on EMR clusters (with S3 for data storage). Enabled scaling of data lake processing with additional EMR instances.❖Enabled AWS to glean business insights into its usage in China by working with the Amazon legal team to understand requirements, then lead the team in developing an internal “data transfer service” to meet this business requirement.❖Currently leading a project to utilize Apache Airflow as the orchestration engine for ETL services (Airflow is an open-source orchestrator used widely in the industry for data workflows).

I previously led the Product Design Group, overseeing User Interaction specifications involving all products, and served as Scrum Master for multi-location Agile team that developed client and server software for calibrating color printers. Past successes:❖Delivered new version of main client application “Command WorkStation” for print servers (large-scale Windows/Mac desktop application) as part of 5-year, complex project. Achieved significant improvement from previous version in terms of appearance/visibility, leading to increased Fiery sales. ❖Reduced client software development time by proposing and evangelizing web services platform on Fiery print servers (despite internal resistance).
