As a tenured Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Sex, Gender, and Diversity in Brain Health and Aging at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), I lead the Brain Health Equity in Aging and Memory (BHEAM) lab and the Brain Health at Midlife & Menopause (BHAMM) Study. With over 20 years of experience in cognitive neuroscience and experimental psychology, I have developed a multidisciplinary research program that aims to understand how biological sex, gender, and social determinants of health influence brain and cognitive aging across diverse communities.I joined TMU in August 2023, after a successful academic career at McGill University and Douglas Research Centre. During my tenure at McGill I served as the inaugural Director of the Douglas Cerebral Imaging Centre (CIC) and Assistant Dean (Academic Affairs) at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. I was also awarded a CIHR Sex & Gender Research Chair in Neuroscience, Mental Health and Addiction. I am passionate about advancing knowledge, innovation, and equity in the field of brain health and aging, and mentoring the next generation of researchers and leaders.
