About Mo Maniruzzaman
I am Chair of Department of Pharmaceutics & Drug Delivery, Professor of Pharmaceutics & Drug Delivery, and Research Professor in the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RIPS) at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, and lead the newly established state-of-the-art Pharmaceutical Engineering and 3D Printing (PharmE3D) Lab. Prior to this, I was a Bauerle Centennial Professorship Fellow and Assistant Professor of Molecular Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery at The University of Texas at Austin, College of Pharmacy (2019-2023), Lecturer in Pharmaceutics/Drug Delivery (2017-2019) and a Research Fellow (2016-2017) at the University of Sussex. I was awarded the ORSAS bursary followed by the University bursary to pursue a PhD in pharmaceutical technology at the University of Greenwich, UK. I obtained a PhD with no corrections (RDC/12/M-3/14, UoG) with two accompanying awards including the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Award in 2013 for the outstanding performance in my doctoral research. I'm a pharmaceutical scientist member (SRPharmS) of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, UK and served as the founding Chair of UoG-AAPS Chapter (2012-2015). During the past years of research, I have delivered more than 50 presentations and invited lectures on various aspects of advanced drug delivery, 3D printing, pharmaceutical technology and continuous manufacturing which have motivated me to publish more than 100 peer reviewed articles in well recognised international journals (mostly Q1), >25 issued patent/patent applications, 3 books, and 15 book chapters. I'm an Editor of AAPS Open, Associate Editor of Heliyon, and on the Editorial Boards of various (pharmaceutical) journals such as AAPS PharmSciTech, Current Drug Delivery. My PharmE3D Labs have secured various substantial federal (i.e. R01 from NIH/FDA, USAID, NASA) and non federal (industry, foundation) grants of >$11.5 million since 2019, and more than 25 academic/professional awards and distinctions.
