Passionate, outgoing, and a leader! Hello! I am Mo, a recent graduate student from San Jose State University (SJSU) with a Master's in Library and Information Science with an emphasis on Instructional Design and online learning tools. I attended the University of California San Diego where I pursued a Bachelor's in Film/Media. Originally my goal was be a big-time movie producer, but I quickly realized that was not the right path for me and instead decided to focus on finding my place in the library world. Since then I have discovered a passion for instructional design and ways that learning can become more accommodating to the increase of technology inside classrooms. My studies have included looking into micro-learning, integrating VR into the classroom, and student-centered workshop creation. I recently completed an internship at the Library of Congress in the Preservation Directorate working on communication strategies, building processes for a website content review, and instructions for employees wanting to post on public-facing channels for the Library. My most recent position at SJSU was as a Zoom Assistant running workshops for incoming students on how to use Zoom most effectively during their graduate careers. Currently, I serve in Chico California as a Substitute Teacher focused on building community connections while pursuing jobs in the library field. I love listening to audiobooks while hiking around Northern California in my spare time. Libraries are the crux of accessible information. I believe in equity and inclusion and that a fundamental tool for creating a more inclusive world is accessible education. In the future, I wish to work with community colleges and other education centers to create a world where anyone can begin a journey of personal growth and learning.
