Artist, art educator, and creative collaborator. In my current role at FotoFest, I work closely with the Meeting Place Director to plan and execute portfolio reviews for over 180 photographers, coordinating both in-person and virtual sessions. Partnering with internal teams—communications and operations—I help ensure all logistical aspects run smoothly, including complex scheduling and ongoing communication with artists throughout the onboarding and event process. With a focus on strategic execution and mindful stakeholder engagement, I ensure that each review aligns with FotoFest’s mission to strengthen and expand the international photography community. The successful execution of the Meeting Place Portfolio Reviews plays a key role in facilitating international artistic collaborations, resulting in exhibition opportunities, gallery representation, and publications for participating photographers.In my previous position at Houston Arts Alliance (HAA), I organized and facilitated grant panels comprising local, regional, and national arts community leaders. These panels provided recommendations for the allocation of $10M public funds annually, significantly impacting the lives of individual artists and arts organizations within Houston. Additionally, I have served on selection panels for the Texas Commission on the Arts and for CatchLight x FotoFest: West Coast Review Sessions. I'm a strong proponent of equitable compensation, advocating for fair pay and livable wages for artists and their invaluable contributions. I am proud to have participated in the 2023 Texas Arts Advocacy Summit during the 88th Texas Legislative Session in Austin, TX, contributing to the successful lobbying efforts that increased funding for cultural districts throughout Texas. My work in nonprofit arts administration has strengthened my commitment to advancing community education on the infrastructure of public funding available to artists and arts organizations at the state and local levels and I am passionate about building sustainable networks of artists and nonprofit organizations that are responsive to evolving needs of the community.In 2017, I received an M.F.A. in Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University. Prior to that, I received a B.F.A. in Photography and a B.S. in Sociology from Texas State University in 2011. As a visual artist, my work is heavily focused in process and incorporates the language and artifacts of lens-based media.
