I am a passionate advocate for Health Equity and the improvement of patient care in the Medical Field from both a research and clinical perspective. I gained experience by volunteering as a summer volunteer in the Labor and Delivery Unit of Kings County Hospital in 2018 and by completing Research on the impact of COVID-19 on mental health with Mentoring in Medicine in the Summer of 2022. During my time at Spelman College, I served as a two-year Resident Advisor, Vice President of the BLISS Mentorship Program, and a proud member of Spelman College's Eta Kappa Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As a Resident advisor in LLC1, I was a student leader responsible for engaging with residents daily and developing programs in our Economic Empowerment portion of our SUCCESS programming. As the Vice President of the BLISS mentorship program, a program created to mentor peers and young girls of color about the importance of self-care, feminine hygiene, mental health, and self-love, I mentored peers and girls of color both at Spelman and at the Salvation Army Bellwood Boys and Girls Club. As a member of Eta Kappa Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I served as the Co-Social Media Chair and the Chairperson for the Emergency Response Team.I am currently preparing to take my MCAT in the spring of 2024, serving as an active member of the BKAC of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc's college readiness program and tour, "Teen Lift" , and working as a caregiver specializing in providing tailored support and care for families and children with special needs.
