1. Safety Responsibilities: - Responsible for their own safety and that of the Roustabout crew. - Attends and actively participates in pre-tour, post-tour, and weekly safety meetings. - Oversees and trains personnel to inspect rig safety apparatus and equipment. - Demonstrates strong leadership skills, directing Roustabouts to ensure safe and efficient operations.2. Safety Procedures and Compliance: - Adheres to lock-out and tag-out procedures. - Ensures lifted loads are clear of obstructions, within equipment load limits, and properly secured with tag lines. - Ensures proper color coding of lifting gear before use. - Directs Roustabouts as needed to support MODU (Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit) operations.3. Crane Operations and Maintenance: - Safely operates crane equipment to hoist materials and equipment onto the MODU and between ocean vessels. - Assists with inspecting all lifting equipment (slings, cables, straps, shackles, wire ropes) before use. - Performs preventive maintenance tasks on the cranes and associated equipment.4. Supervision and Communication: - Supervises the cleaning and painting of the MODU. - Ensures activities are conducted in compliance with Valaris safety standards. - Ensures Roustabouts follow the Valaris Management System (VMS). - Assists in corporate and regulatory inspections. - Creates an environment for open communication about safety issues within the organization.5. Crane Operation Details: - Remains in continual voice (radio) communication with Roustabouts while operating the crane. - Maintains accurate and up-to-date Crane record books. - Ensures Roustabout crew complies with proper techniques when tying onto loads or carrying loads by hand.6. Environmental Monitoring: - Monitors sea and weather conditions to ensure safe loading and unloading operations.7. Additional Duties: - Performs other duties as assigned.
