ENDOCRINOLOGY: 1 metabolic bone disease clinics per week, 1.5 general endocrine clinics per week, 1 joint surgical thyroid/parathyroid clinic alternate weeks, 1 thyroid cancer clinic per month, 1 joint neurosurgical/pituitary clinic per month. On-call 1:7 for the speciality. There are 2000-2500 specialty outpatient consultant episodes attributable to my care annually.DIAGNOSTICS: Medical DXA reporting (1 session per week). About 20% of annual throughput of 6000 DXA scans are reported medically, providing patient-specific advice based on available clinical information. MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAMS: Chair of metabolic bone disease MDT; core member and former chair of pituitary and seller diseases MDT; core member of thyroid cancer MDT. ACUTE AND GENERAL MEDICINE: My internal medicine workload comprises 25% of my overall contracted activity and runs the whole gamut of activity from the Ambulatory Care Unit (seeing urgent non-elective, non-admitted patients), Acute Medical Unit (medical admissions) and inpatient work on a base ward. This improved performance translates to 6132 bed days saved or 17.68 bed-equivalents, assuming 95% midnight occupancy. — Reduced length of stay in AAU to 12 hours (for discharged patients) and to 16 hours (for patients admitted to wards). — Maintained departmental financial balance.
