ENDOCRINOLOGY: 1 metabolic bone disease clinics per week, 1.5 general endocrine clinics per week, 1 joint surgical thyroid/parathyroid clinic alternate weeks, 1 thyroid cancer clinic per month, 1 joint neurosurgical/pituitary clinic per month. On-call 1:7 for the speciality. There are 2000-2500 specialty outpatient consultant episodes attributable to my care annually.DIAGNOSTICS: Medical DXA reporting (1 session per week). About 20% of annual throughput of 6000 DXA scans are reported medically, providing patient-specific advice based on available clinical information. MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAMS: Chair of metabolic bone disease MDT; core member and former chair of pituitary and seller diseases MDT; core member of thyroid cancer MDT. This improved performance translates to 6132 bed days saved or 17.68 bed-equivalents, assuming 95% midnight occupancy. — Reduced length of stay in AAU to 12 hours (for discharged patients) and to 16 hours (for patients admitted to wards). — Maintained departmental financial balance. Undertook change management to streamline the metabolic bone unit, working closely with the local commissioners and inviting peer review from the Society for Endocrinology. This led to an agreement on 5-year strategic direction and a service model.

Undergraduate clinical teaching for HYMS Phase II (Years 3 and 4) and Phase III (Final Year) students in thyroid teaching clinics, on general medical wards and on the acute medical unit. Undertaking clinical research as part of Hull Hip fracture Intervention and Prevention Study (HHIPS).

Examiner for the MRCP(UK) PACES Examination.

The CQC is the regulator for providers of acute, primary, community and social care service providers in England. Specialist Advisors are seconded from employing organisations to provide advice to the inspection team. I have participated in the inspection of two acute hospitals and one ambulance service provider.

Led the development of generic training modules (e.g. communication skills, critical appraisal, evidence-based medicine, medico-legal training) for Core Medical Trainees in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Developed the CMT teaching programme at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals. Participated in CMT recruitment and annual assessments.
