The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) oversees the operational and technical management, implementation, and scaling of USAID's $40 million Higher Secondary Education Activity (HSEA) in Bangladesh. Responsibilities include leading program operations and collaborating closely with senior team members and technical teams across project partners and regions. DCOP ensures the effective delivery of program interventions in coordination with the Ministry of Education and its vital bodies, aligning with project goals and US government requirements. This role drives project strategic vision in collaboration with various technical experts and supervises leads in finance and operations, grants and innovation funds, and communications. This position also plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of activities, scalability, and adherence to project goals and regulatory principles.

• Provide technical assistance for International Basic Education programs in Save the Children country offices (focusing Asia) to ensure that all primary school age children can access relevant, quality and inclusive education services in a protective and respectful learning environment; • Facilitate the global Community of Practice to promote best practices and lessons learned across the countries, contribute to knowledge management and dissemination of Basic Education evidences for scale-up;• Support/Lead contextualized EdTech solutions for improving learning (literacy and numeracy) outcomes alongside promoting Save the Children’s global common approaches for education; • Support ensuring the application of the global Theory of Change and the development of integrated education tools and approaches to deliver on the theory of change;• Develop simple tools and guidance for south to south TA, and track program activities in this area;• Participate as a member of the Department of Education and Child Protection (DECP) team, and as a member of the Program Quality and Impact for Sponsorship program (PQIS).

Provided strategic guidance and leadership for Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) and Basic Education (BE) programs of sponsorship funded Shishuder Jonno (Integrated Child Development) Program at Meherpur District, Bangladesh. My major responsibilities were- strategic and operational planning, leading technical team for smooth operation of the programs. Recruitment staffs, Capacity building of staff and stakeholders, monitoring and supervision of program activities, program quality monitoring, reporting, budget, advocacy and liaisons and networks with appropriate partners including ministry and civil society. Innovative child-focused community led education programs design (e.g. parenting practices for child rearing) to scale up. Supervised pilot interventions e.g. Pregnancy to 3 interventions under ECCD program, Basic (Primary) Education in Govt. formal education system (6-12 years age children), Literacy Boost for promoting children’s reading ability, Linkage establishment of Infusing ICT in Primary Education pilot, Budget monitor, Proposal development, Research and advocacy, Community mobilization for Education programming, Publications work (e.g. Training manual for pre-primary and primary teachers, School Management Committee and operational guideline for program implementation staffs etc.), from writing to editing to publication design.

IED, BRACU under the auspices of BRAC University aims to become a centre of excellence for professional development in education, combine theory and practice for educational development, and disseminate and use knowledge and skills to improve the quality of the national education system. In this institution, I actively contributed design to initial execution phase for Post-Graduation Diploma course and Masters of Education program on Educational Leadership, Planning and Management in collaboration with the Manchester University, UK and the George Washington University, US. This programs mainly reached GOs and NGOs mid level professionals. I also planned, designed and Initiated Secondary level educational methods and materials for improving the teaching-learning process applying various learning theories and lessons extracted from different allies experiences. Conducted policy and operational research to assess and adapt best practices on Whole School Improvement (WSI) concept; Piloted a field trial to test and develop new solutions of secondary level Learning Package with 10 selected schools of Manikganj district to ensure quality education applying BRACU-IED developed education materials & Whole School Improvement (WSI) model. Schemed and monitored teacher’s short courses and taken actions to offer. Oriented research activity for secondary level educational material development and teacher’s training through action research and participatory research. Organized Policy dialogue and public advocacy on critical aspects of educational development on Good Governance in Education: Transparency, Accountability and Effectiveness.
