Key Achievements:• Strategic Sustainability & ESG Leadership: First in Pakistan to have set SBTi-validated 1.5°C-aligned Near Term and Net Zero targets for a Vertical Large-Scale Textile Manufacturer (May 2024), positioning Soorty as a climate-action leader in Pakistan. • Elected Cluster-Head for Karachi: First elected Cluster-Head for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and, through it, the German Government, acting as principal liaison for all Karachi-based organizations, strengthening international collaboration and regional development.• Organic Cotton Farmers: Launched the Soorty Organic Cotton Initiative (SOCI), partnering with 1100+ farmers, increasing farmer incomes by 10-20%. SOCI’s Women Empowerment project earned a grant from American Eagle Outfitters to support and expand its impact.• Strategic Partnerships: Built key partnerships with UN Women, Tchibo's WE program, Primark & BSR's HERproject, fostering collaboration and extending the reach of our sustainability initiatives.• Training and Empowerment: Managed training initiatives empowering over 15,000 staff and 50,000 community members, focusing on women and minority inclusion to drive diversity and inclusion goals.• DEI Recognition: Developed the Soorty PRISM and SEWS project, recognized by Inditex & UN Women for DEI practices, resulting in significant advancements in gender equality and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.• ESG Metrics Implementation: Implemented ESG metric dashboards, improving performance tracking, transparency, and accountability within the organization.• Cross-Functional Leadership: Led cross-functional teams to integrate ESG metrics into business operations, enhancing brand reputation and operational efficiency.
