In 2015, I drove the formation and led deployment of the first Rising Tide (RT) pooled fund as a Founding Managing Member of the GP. I started my VC apprenticeship while leading this organization as Executive Director. I assessed thousands of companies in close cooperation with the veteran Partners and team at Newbury Ventures and Rising Tide Fund. I began to build my network and trusted relationships with family offices, corporates, and the (then nascent) entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Middle East. I grew my network within the Silicon Valley ecosystem by playing a leadership role within the largest network of Arab American high technology executives, and worked with countless startups, eventually building custom acceleration programs for the best MENA startups with the help of the MIT Enterprise Forum, sponsored by Google for Entrepreneurs, and the Skoll Foundation. I was the first employee and grew team and budget 3x.I was inspired to start my career in this realm after the events in Egypt in 2011 - to maximize my impact and focus on economic development and not ideology and politics.
