When I was 11 years old, I found my true passion. My passion was playing piano! It ignited a fire deep inside of me just thinking about it! I started to learn to play piano from an amazing teacher who made me fall in love with jazz. I graduated at 18 in Jazz Improvisation with the highest honor at the Music School of Arts in the Netherlands.I started to play for money at the age of 15. Initially, I played in exclusive hotels, restaurants, and bars. I learned a lot about hospitality during my time as an entertainer and knew that making customers happy and giving them the best experience was my ultimate goal. Thinking about my future career and life aspirations, I concluded that being a professional musician wasn’t ticking all my boxes.So what then? It sounds geeky, but I was fascinated by how taxation works for companies and people internationally. So, I decided to change direction and kept playing piano for a few more years as a side hustle and later as a hobby. I searched for a job in the tax industry to learn more about taxation and, in parallel, studied International Tax Law and Economics.I started working at 18 at PwC and moved later to Deloitte, where I was introduced to the world of global mobility and gained experience in international personal income taxation and social security matters. I graduated from my studies at 23. After my tax consultancy experience, I wanted to gain in-house Mobility experience and worked for companies like ABN AMRO, Capgemini, and Bacardi, where I learned more about immigration, culture, Total Rewards, Talent Mobility, stakeholder, and external vendor management. I felt that Global Mobility was my true passion. During my tenure at these companies, I won multiple awards and recognitions for process improvement, customer experience, program design, and collaboration.Some of my business accomplishments include:1. Recurring cost savings of 50% (USD 2 million) per annum by transforming the Mobility strategy and program and making processes more efficient.2. Rebuilding the department and programs from operational to a strategic Center of Excellence.3. Increasing the employee relocation experience from 1.3 stars to 4.9 stars (scale 1-5).With my decades of experience and passion for the Global Mobility industry, I had a dream to help small-midsize companies with cross-border activities navigate the Global Mobility jungle and give their internal stakeholders and talents a flawless international experience.
