Yi Jun is Senior Manager (Global Partnerships) with the National Climate Change Secretariat and Senior Manager (Policy Analytics) with the Strategy & Policy Planning Division, under the Strategy Group of Singapore's Prime Minister's Office. Yi Jun was Singapore’s Lead Negotiator for the first Global Stocktake of the Paris Agreement, and is presently Lead Negotiator for Article 6 (Carbon Markets) at the UNFCCC. He represents the Singapore Government as a Council Member of the Climate Action Data Trust. He was previously a Foreign Service Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving as a Desk Officer with the Hong Kong & Taiwan Branch of the Northeast Asia Directorate.Since 2016, he has been Co-Founder & President of Advisory (www.advisory.sg), a fully youth-led charity helping young Singaporeans from all walks of life to make informed career choices. Advisory has worked with over 212,000 students and youth since its establishment, raised over $140,000 for its work, and runs Singapore's largest pro bono careers-based mentorship for students with over 14,000 hours of mentorship delivered since 2020.Yi Jun is a Queen's Young Leader, Diana Awardee, #Generation17 Young Leader with UNDP and Samsung, Forbes 30 under 30 - Social Impact listee, former Singapore Hub Curator of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community, OYW-Deloitte Scholar, EU-ASEAN Young Leader, World Cities Summit Young Leader, Climate Reality Leader with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore's Climate Reality Project, Hitachi Young Leader, Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Pacific Forum Young Leader, and One Young World Ambassador.He currently serves as an Advisor to the Queen's Commonwealth Trust. He has served as a Youth Representative to the Jury of UN Environment's Young Champions of the Earth, as Reader for the Mandela Washington Fellowship, as a Youth Environment Envoy with the National Environment Agency Singapore, and as Senior Panelist with the National Youth Council Singapore's Young ChangeMakers Grant.His research and writing has received awards from the likes of Foreign Affairs Magazine, the Credit Suisse Research Institute, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the United States Naval Academy. Yi Jun holds an MMSc. Global Affairs from Tsinghua University, where he was a BP Fellow and Schwarzman Scholar; and graduated with First Class Honours in a BSc. Politics and International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science, where he studied on a Public Service Commission (Foreign Service) Scholarship.
