Responsibilities include estimating sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water main, concrete,earthwork and asphalt with Agtek/Onscreen take off software, Auto CAD & assisting ourestimating staff with HCSS (heavy bid) operation/updates, Suretrack CPM schedules &AS400 reports. Estimating and managing $15 - $20 million of MDOT, local agency, municipal& commercial work a year. Scheduling multiple asphalt crews out of 3 asphalt plants.Assisting our other areas with creating and managing 3D/tin surfaces in Carlson take offsoftware for Topcon GPS machine control. A few projects that I have managed include $2MCPM project on M-44 from I-96 to 3 Mile in Kent Co. 2008, $5M CPM project on I-96 CPMfrom M-11 to Bristol Ave. in Kent Co. 2009 and the $14M project on I-196 from 118th to130th in Allegan Co. 2010/2011.

Grand Rapids, Mi. — 2001-2005 I was a foreman and a lead equipment operator onMDOT and local agency projects, many large commercial site projects, residential plats,educational reconstruction projects and municipal street scapes.

R Ramoie Contracting was a joint venture for my father Ron and I after the sale of MolonExcavating to the Walton’s. We focused on the residential market, digging basements,installing septic systems, water and sewer connections and small road/subdivisiondevelopments. We also assisted the leading landscape company with many of their projectsby providing screened topsoil, retaining walls, earthwork and laser automated finish grading.

My father started Molon in 1978 with “$50 a wheel barrel and a shovel” (his words). Thename Molon is derived from “mowing lawns”, the way he started. At the time of the sale in1998 the company had grown to gross more than $5 million a year, had 40 employee’scomprised of 2 dirt crews an asphalt crew, a concrete crew with a curb machine andconcrete trucks. It was here that at the age of 5 I began to help labor and operateequipment that included a curb machine, asphalt paver and road grader by the age of 14during my summer breaks. These early years have proven to be most priceless inrelationships and memories that have shaped my path through the construction industry.
