Senior Unreal Developer
Senior Unreal Developer responsible for all aspects of Unreal Engine 4/5 game/software development, using C++ and Blueprints. Included taking gameplay features and new modules from brief to implementation. This incorporated all forms of asset generation and manipulation to create a โsandboxโ environment for scientists to create new molecules. Also have lead responsibility for bug-tracking and fixing, and documentation.โข Implemented a molecular alignment feature, using Kabsch Algorithm, Particle Effects, Linear Algebra and World/Local Reference Frames. โข Reduced visualisation overhead of non-covalent interactions from 10-seconds to real-time by creating an interactions data parser and implementing a function for procedural generation of geometry. This reduced the draw count from thousands to one.โข Enabled an AWS-based collaboration system, which improved safe data sharing between users, enabling collaborative manipulation of data while improving overall integrity. This improved the multiplayer functionality of the game whilst also significantly reducing wasted time and resource investment.โข Assisted in the switch from UMG-based UI to a primarily Slate powered UI.โข Implemented a collision-system for the game to detect atomic-level clashes.
