I have a PhD in Physics with a solid background in dynamical systems theory and biomathematics. My mathematical strengths are differential equations (ODE, DDE, and PDE) and optimization problems. I specialize in mathematical modeling of biological regulatory systems and disease dynamics with a particular interest in tracking down therapeutic strategies (e.g. osteoporosis, diabetes). I have +8 years of experience in mathematical modeling and simulation in the pharmaceutical industry. I am currently working at Pfizer in the San Francisco Bay area. My role is to use mathematical modeling and understanding of biology to aid in generation and optimization of antibody-based therapeutics in various disease areas. The scope of the work goes from early identification of appropriate biological targets to prediction of clinical outcomes. Before that, at Labopharm, I was responsible of a small team made up of interns and collaborators from other departments. The problems we had been working on include mechanistic PK/PD modeling with the objective of improving both the formulation of the drug products and the clinical development strategy. During my postdoctoral experience, I assembled and led a multidisciplinary team of international researchers to work on the activation of human gene transcription. Together, we proposed new experimental avenues based on mathematical analysis of physical models of transcription. My goal is to continue unraveling biological regulatory processes within an integrated multidisciplinary team. I am particularly interested in how biological dysfunctions may be reversed using insights from mathematical modeling and experiments.Specialties: Mathematical modeling and simulation of biological regulatory processes.Dynamical systems.
