Nurse Volunteer offering COVID relief aid during the pandemic period harming the Navajo Nation community. Volunteer opportunity was made in partnership with HEAL Initiative and UCSF Medical Center. My primary role was in the Emergency Room and COVID Respiratory Triage Center.

Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge. Informs patient and family of hospital procedures. Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff.

The Credentialed Trainer (CT) is responsible for teaching CareConnect classes to a variety of end users and for providing one-on-one and small group training for a variety of topics. The CT will be involved in writing curriculum, creating tip sheets and other training related activities and ensures students are prepared to pass a proficiency test at the end of each class.

The Resident Assistant provides a variety of non-medical services to residents; providing assistance to residents when appropriate, including cooking, cleaning, assistance with medication regime, hygiene, and spiritual/emotional wellness.

Responsibilities included leading a successful shift, upholding quality food standards, providing expedient service, quality customer service, promoting educational needs of employees, maintaining the upkeep of grounds, ensuring employees completed tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
