Job Tasks: Maintain a 90% travel ratio while helping 5-8 assigned facilities reach their Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery initiative goals, while also working to lead culture change that empowers employees to improve their workplace. Secondary responsibilities include leading development of training materials for QCO/SMED, 5S, WEI, and Kaizen tools, developing and maintaining three internal SharePoint sites, facilitating two technology committees, leading facilitation and development of a 5-day Lean Training course, assisting plants with annual strategic planning, recruiting through Career Fairs, leading 3 corporate wide improvement projects, and promoting duplication of cost saving projects through the WEI processMajor Accomplishments:-Facilitated over 100 multi-day Kaizen Events using the DMAIC process, many including cross functional teams with vendors and sister plants---Notable project savings include an annual $63k reduction in shipping charges, $42k reduction in warehousing costs, a quality hold reduction from 174,000 annual units to 9,120 (est. $330k annual savings), over 20 safety/ergonomic Kaizens, and a reduction in the time to cost a new product from an average 64 days to 25 days-Facilitated 18 additional QCO/SMED Events---Notable project savings include a changeover reduction from 13 hours to 6.5, 12 hours to 8, 45 minutes to 11 on a daily process, and an annual savings of over $100k on a single project-Led over 40 TPM Events on individual pieces of equipment-Taught Lean Manufacturing principles to over 40 groups of salaried and hourly employees through hands on and classroom style courses-Facilitated projects and improvements with 30 manufacturing facilities across the US

Since 2005 I have worked as a Lab Consultant for the Office of Information Technology. This position helps answer general questions regarding software used in the computer lab, checks out rental laptops to students, and assist in new student registrations and student computer account questions.I have also worked several winterims and summers for Technical Maintenance. Through this position I have led several projects such as adding wireless internet to existing dorm buildings, running network cables for new installations and renovations, maintaining all networked printers on campus, and various other computer related maintenance projects.

Because Schomburg is a family owned and run business, I have been able to play a major role in HR, Finances, Janitorial duties, and every day jobs that come with running a small business. I also have been working in the field with the other technicians, servicing Commercial Microwaves and ovens, Coolers, Air Conditioners, and other commercial kitchen equipment.

Job Tasks: Implement a Lean Manufacturing program in the production and office environments, and perform 5S in several departments. Secondary responsibilities included R&D for new ink systems and substrates using weather testing and chemical resistance testing, planning and executing safety audits, attending managerial meetings, and participating in presentations relating to company finances. Major Accomplishments:- Implemented 5S in 80% of the 100,000 sq ft manufacturing facility- Identified over twelve 20’ dumpsters worth of unnecessary items that were removed from the facility- Brainstormed and implemented one project that saves 3 managers over 2 hours a day, expedited “hot jobs” through the plant, and is still in place to date- Asked to present the results of my internship to the board of directors in Grand Haven Michigan
